Çalışan Çocuklar Gerçeği: Hatay İli Örneği

Abstract

Geçmişten günümüze ucuz işgücü olarak görülen çocuk işçiler kültürel, ekonomik ve sosyal sorunlara yol açabilmektedir. Bu nedenle önlem alınması gereken sorun alanlarının başında gelmektedir. Çocukları çalışmaya iten etmenler arasında psikolojik, sosyolojik, ekonomik pek çok faktör yer almaktadır. Çalışmamızda; Hatay’da sanayi sektöründe faaliyet gösteren işletmelerde çalışan çocukların demografik, ailevi, eğitim ve çalışma koşulları ve geleceğe ilişkin beklentileri incelenmiştir. Çalışmada ilk olarak literatür taraması yapılarak kavramsal ve teorik çerçevesi ele alınmıştır. Daha sonra Hatay ili içerisinde sanayide çalışan çocuklara anket uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler analiz edilerek çocukları çalışmaya iten nedenlerin sosyolojik, psikolojik ve ekonomik gerekçeleri ile çocuklar üzerinde yarattığı durumlar araştırılmıştır.

Child laborers who are considered cheap labor force bring out economic and social challenges from past to present. Therefore, it is one of the main problems that need to be remedied with due precautions. Among the factors that force children to work are psychological, sociological, and economic reasons. The demographic and domestic life of children that work in the industry of Hatay Province as well as their education and work conditions and expectations about the future are examined in our study. We first set the conceptual and theoretical settings by reviewing the literature, which is followed by a survey on the children who work in the industry within the borders of the Hatay Province. The sociological, psychological, and economic reasons that lead children to work as well as their impact on them are investigated by analyzing the obtained data.
