The effect of honey Bee-themed nature training program on students’ levels of knowledge and scientific creativity

Abstract

This study’s main purpose was to examine effectiveness of the naturel training programme about honey bee thema on knowledge and scientifict creativity level of student’s who were at the 5 th and 6 th grade in the Duzce Province. The study was conducted in June 2015. The research was managed totally with 112 students, 52 of whom were in the experiment group and 62 of whom were in the control group. The study pattern was matching-only design the pre-test – post-test within control grups. The bees achievement test and scientific creativity scale were used for data collection. In the analyses, the paired t-test and t-test for independent samplings were employed. The research results indicated that the students significantly increase knowledge about bees and scientific creativity levels than control groups.

Bu çalışmanın genel amacı, bal arısı temalı bir doğa eğitim programının beş ve altıncı sınıfa devam eden öğrencilerin bilimsel/fen alanında yaratıcılık ile bilgi düzeyine etkisinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma, Düzce İli genelindeki 5 ve 6. sınıfa devam eden öğrencilerle sürdürülmüştür. Çalışma, 2015 yılı Haziran ayında gerçekleştirilmiştir. Analizlere, 52’si deney 62’si kontrol olmak üzere toplam 114 öğrenciden dönen veriler dahil edilmiştir. Araştırma, ön test – sont test kontrol gruplu eşleştirilmiş desende sürdürülmüştür. Çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak, arı başarı testi ve bilim yaratıcılık ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Veri analizinde eşleştirilmiş t–testi ile bağımsız örneklemler için t–testi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın sonuçlarına göre öğrencilerin arılar konusunda bilgi düzeyi ile bilimsel yaratıcılık düzeyinin kontrol grubuna göre anlamlı düzeyde yükseldiği saptanmıştır.
