This study was carried out to determine the ghost fishing situation of commercial circle fish traps. In this study, four circular traps were deployed near to a reef area, Karantina Island, Izmir Bay. between November 2002 and March 2003. Traps were observed by daily diving surveys. Depending on fish density, fish learned to escape from the traps' openings or from the bar gaps after the 10th day. Ghost fishing was not observed after the first mount.trinfo:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccessGhost FishingTrapIzmir BayCircle TrapReefAn investigation on ghost fishing of circular fish traps used in TurkeyArticle23351354N/AWOS:000440355200006
