Soğuk Savaş döneminde bölgede kendilerini yalnız ve korumasız hisseden bu iki devlet, çareyi ABD koruma kalkanına girmekte bulmuşlardır. Anzus Paktının devreye girmesiyle askeri ve politik açıdan Pasifik Bölgesi ABD kontrolüne geçmiştir. Bu tez literatür taraması yöntemiyle oluşturulmuştur ve dört bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde; Avustralya'nın Dünya Üzerindeki Yeri, Keşfi ve Paktın Tarihi Temelleri incelenmiştir. İkinci bölümde; paktın hazırlık ve imza süreci ele alınmıştır. Üçüncü bölümde ise Soğuk Savaş dönemi Anzus istişareleri ve son bölümde de Soğuk Savaş sonrası Paktın durumu incelenmiştir. Anahtar Kelimeler: ANZUS, SEATO, AUSMIN, Soğuk Savaş.After the WWII, as a result of Britain's power loss and the superiority overtaken by the USA in the Southeast of Asia and the Pacific Rim, Australia and the New Zealand had started to move away from Britain and come closer to USA. By the start of the Cold War, both these countries had felt alone and ınsecure in the region and had solved the problem by joining the defence shield of USA. By the ratification of ANZUS Pact, the Pacific Rim had started to be controlled by the USA both politically and militarily. This thesis was formed by literature survey method and consists of four sections. First, The place of Australia on World, the Exploration of Australia and the historical origins of the Anzus Pact have been analysed. Second, the preparation and the signing processes of the pact were handled. Cold War Era Anzus Meetings are surveyed in the third section and Post Cold War Anzus Pact Relations have been surveyed in the last section of the paper.
