Here we dissected a total of 80 female Anguid (61 A. fragilis complex and 19 P. apodus) lizards to examine the ovaries for eggs and embryos. According to the frequencies concerning ripe eggs and embryos (for A. fragilis complex only) it can be suggested that the potential reproduction period of A. fragilis complex from April to July, whereas the potential reproduction period of P. apodus is between April and June.
