Çalışmada; tatil talebinde bulunabilecek potansiyel turistlerin, çevrelerinden ve duygularından etkilenecekleri düşünülerek, homojen seçenekleri bulunan senaryo sorularına verdikleri cevaplar sırasında düştükleri yanılsamalar incelenmiştir. Bu bağlamda, son zamanlarda adından sıkça bahsettiren terör saldırıları bireylerdeki çağrışım mekanizmalarını geliştirmiş ve bireylerin oluşan önyargılarına göre tercihler yapmasına neden olmuştur. Bu durum, konu özellikle terörizm gibi nadir olaylar olduğunda bireylerin rasyonel tavır sergileyemediklerini ve kendilerince en az zarara neden olacak seçeneklere yöneldiklerini göstermiştir.
