The Turk image in the German child songs has tried to be determined here. Especially in the light of the general research upon the Turk image in the German culture we could conclude that ethnical stereotypes, especially negative charakterization, is mostly connected to a problematic self-image. Through this article we would like to voice the urgency of overcoming prejudices reflecting the subconscious of the society. Stereotypes and prejudices always mean isolation; the goal must be of overcoming borders. © 2008 Akadémiai Kiadó.
