dc.description.abstractHalkevleri, Cumhuriyet rejiminin yerleşmesi ve milli devlet yapılanmasının oluşmasını sağlayan temel kurumlardan birisi olarak tarihe geçmiştir. Sosyal ve kültürel alanda yapılan inkılâpların en hareketli olduğu dönemde açılan halkevleri ve daha sonrasında halkodalarıyla beraber milli devletin tüm unsurları en ücra noktalara kadar ulaştırılmaya çalışılmış, sadece siyasi bir yapılanmanın değil sosyal ve kültürel dönüşümün de sağlanması noktasında büyük hizmet görmüştür. Spor faaliyetlerinden bilimsel konferanslara, sanat çalışmalarından yardım faaliyetlerine kadar her alanda faaliyet gösteren halkevleri, ülkenin pek çok yerinde açılmıştır. Bunlardan birisi olan Edirne Halkevi de benzer faaliyetlerle Edirne'nin gelişimine katkıda bulunmuştur. Bölge için önemli bir sosyal ve kültürel merkez haline gelerek, Edirne halkının Mustafa Kemal Atatürk'ün ilke ve inkılâpları doğrultusunda çağdaşlaşması yönünde önemli katkı sağlamıştır. Bu çalışma da dönemin ana kaynaklarına başvurularak Edirne Halkevi'nin faaliyetlerine odaklanmaktadır. Konuyla ilgili olarak Başkanlık Cumhuriyet Arşivi'nden belgeler incelenmiştir. Buna ek olarak Edirne Halkevi tarafından çıkarılan Altıok Dergisi ile ulusal ve yerel basından yararlanılmıştır.
dc.description.abstractPeople's Houses went down in history as one of the basic institutions that ensured the establishment of the Republican regime and the formation of the national state. All the elements of the national state were tried to be brought to the farthest points, together with the people's houses that were opened during the most active period of the social and cultural reforms and afterwards the public rooms, and it served a great deal in providing not only a political structure but also social and cultural transformation. People's houses operating in every field from sports activities to scientific conferences, from art works to charity activities have been opened in many parts of the country. Edirne People's House, one of them, contributed to the development of Edirne with similar activities. By becoming an important social and cultural center for the region, it contributed significantly to the modernization of the people of Edirne in line with Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's principles and reforms. This study also focuses on the activities of Edirne People's House by referring to the main sources of the period. Regarding th esubject, documents from the Presidency Republic Archive were examined. In addition, Altıok Magazine published by Edirne People's House, national and local press were used.
