İlköğretim okullarındaki üçüncü, dördüncü ve beşinci sınıf öğrencilerinin matematik dersine yönelik tutum ve ilgilerinin belirlenmesi

Bu çalışma ilköğretim okulu birinci kademe öğrencilerinin Matematik dersine olan tutum ve ilgililerini belirlemek için yapılmıştır. Bu amaçla 2004–2005 Eğitim ve Öğretim yılında Çanakkale ili merkezinde bulunan 16 İlköğretim Okulunda üçüncü, dördüncü ve beşinci sınıf da öğrenim gören 1684 öğrenciye anket uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak anket formu geliştirilmiştir. Anket verileri SPSS 10.0 paket programı kullanılarak çözümlenmiştir. Sonuçlar Ki-kare testi dikkate alınarak ve p= 0.05 anlamlılık düzeyine göre değerlendirilmiştir. Bu araştırmada öğrencilere, en çok sevdikleri ders ve bu derse karşı tutum ve ilgilerini belirleyen, aile, toplum ve öğretmenlerin davranışları, dersin öğretilmesinde uygulanan yöntemler ile öğrencilerin dersle ilgili beklentileri sorulmuştur. Öğretmenlerin ifade ve beceri derslerinde matematik dersi işlemeleri, öğrenciler üzerinde matematik dersine karşı olumsuz tutum sergilemelerine neden olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca, aile ve çevrenin matematik dersini zor öğrenilen bir ders olarak gösterdiği tespit edilmiştir. Bununda derse karşı olumsuz bir etki yaptığı görülmüştür.

This study was carried out to determine the manners and interests of the students towards the course of mathematics. For this reason, in the school year 2004-2005 a questionnaire was given to 1684 students from the third, forth and fifth grades from 16 different schools in Canakkale province. In this research a questionnaire form was used as the survey of data collection. The data was examined by SPSS 10.0 package program. Chi-Square tests and p= 0.05 expected value were applied to the results. In this study the students most loved course, identification of their interest and their beheviour towards that course, their family, societies the teachers behavior, methods used in class and the expectations of the students were asked. Teaching mathematics, instead of teaching courses where students can express themselves and show their skills, had a negative effect towards the course of mathematics. Moreover the family and the vicinity of the students showing mathematics as a difficult to understand course is another criteria that has a negative effect towards the course of mathematics.
