Perg Efsaneleri'nde temel arketipler ve liderlik sembolleri

Sözlü ürünlerin başlangıcı insanlık tarihiyle yaşıt sayılırken yazılı ürünler ise daha geç dönemde karşımıza çıkmıştır. Fantastik ürünlerin ilk halleri insanlık tarihi kadar geçmişe gitmektedir. Modern bağlamında yazılı fantastik eserler 18. yüzyılda başlamıştır. Türk edebiyatında ilk fantastik romanlar 19. yüzyılda yazılmıştır. Bu çalışma temelde Türk fantastik roman incelemeleri sahasındaki eksikliği giderme ve Türk fantastik romanını görünür kılma, geliştirme amacına hizmet etmektedir. Bu çalışmada Barış Müstecaplıoğlu'nun Türk edebiyatında ilk fantastik roman serisi olan Perg Efsaneleri, Carl Gustav Jung tarafından sistemleştirilen Analitik Psikoloji'nin öne sürdüğü temel arketipler ışığında değerlendirilmesi ve seride yer alan kahramanların liderlik sembolleri üzerine durulmuştur. Analitik psikoloji, Carl Gustav Jung tarafından sistemleştirilmiş derinlik psikolojilerinden biridir. Temelde bilinç ve bilinçdışının yapısını inceleyen akımının önem verdiği kavramlar arasında arketipler (ilk modeller) vardır. Arketipler bilinçdışı merkezli yapılardır. Bu yapılar aynı zamanda kolektif etki altındadır. Liderlik ise belli bir topluluğu yöneten, yönlendiren kararlar bütünü olarak tanımlanabilir. Bu çalışmada fantastik roman ve bu roman türünün dünya ve Türk edebiyatındaki yerinden; Barış Müstecaplıoğlu'nun hayatı, edebi kimliği ve eserleriyle bu türe katkısından; Analitik Psikoloji ve temel arketipleri olan gölge, anima-animus, ben/benlik, persona kavramlarından; sembol ve liderlik sembollerinden bahsedilmiştir. Kuramsal bilgiler ışığında serinin romanları olan "Korkak ve Canavar", "Merderan'ın Sırrı", "Bataklık Ülke" ve "Tanrıların Alfabesi" üzerinde arketip ve liderlik sembolleri tespitleri metin incelemesi yoluyla yapılmıştır. Yapılan tespitler ve değerlendirmelerden benzer romanların da incelenmesinin yazar ve okurlar açısından yol gösterici olacağı sonucuna varılmıştır. Dolayısıyla Perg Efsaneleri'nin özdeşim kurularak analitik, arketipsel, sembolik bağlamda bilinçli okunmasının benlik algısını artırma yönünde okuyucuyu teşvik edeceği değerlendirilmiştir.

While the origins of oral literary works are considered as old as the history of humanity itself, written literary products emerged at a later period. The earliest forms of fantastic literature date back as far as human history. In its modern sense, written works of fantasy began to appear in the 18th century. In Turkish literature, the first fantasy novels were written in the 19th century. This study primarily aims to address the gap in the field of Turkish fantasy novel studies, to render Turkish fantasy literature more visible, and to contribute to its development. In this context, the research examines The Legends of Perg, the first fantasy novel series in Turkish literature by Barış Müstecaplıoğlu, through the fundamental archetypes proposed by Carl Gustav Jung's Analytical Psychology. The study particularly focuses on the leadership symbols embodied by the heroes within the series. Analytical Psychology, systematized by Carl Gustav Jung, is one of the depth psychology schools of thought. Among the core concepts of this approach, which primarily examines the structure of consciousness and the unconscious, are archetypes — primordial models inherent in the collective unconscious. Archetypes are unconscious-centered structures and are simultaneously influenced by collective forces. Leadership, on the other hand, can be defined as a set of decisions that direct and manage a particular community. Within this study, discussions are made on the genre of fantasy novels and their place in both world and Turkish literature; on the life, literary identity, and contributions of Barış Müstecaplıoğlu to this genre; on Analytical Psychology and its key archetypes — the shadow, anima-animus, self, and persona; as well as on the concepts of symbols and leadership symbols. In light of theoretical information, the archetypes and leadership symbols in the series' novels — The Coward and the Beast, The Secret of Merderan, The Swamp Country, and The Alphabet of the Gods — are identified through textual analysis. The findings and evaluations suggest that examining similar novels would be beneficial and instructive for both authors and readers. Consequently, it is concluded that reading The Legends of Perg consciously, through identification and in an analytical, archetypal, and symbolic context, may encourage readers to enhance their self-perception.
