Inevitably, similar developments have been experienced in Turkey after the early 1950’s. Continuous inflow of migrants from rural areas to cities, are accompanied by rapid urbanization with illegal settlement rings around cities, inadequate services in rural areas, inceasing contradictions between not only city and the countryside but also inside the rapid growing cities. This study is based on a survey we have carried out in eight provinces of Turkey in different regions, among city dwellers and villagers. The findings of this study show that a great potential migrant mass still alive in countryside and waiting for an opportunity to flow cities.
